Job description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II, Army ROTC, to provide complex and diverse administrative support for the Department of Military Science. Serving as a high-level individual contributor, will act as the primary administrative bridge between the Institute and the Army ROTC cadre, which includes various military and civilian personnel, as well as students and Cadets from nine affiliated colleges and universities. Under minimal supervision, will provide sole administrative support, anticipating and initiating actions regarding daily office operations. This requires a deep knowledge of Institute departments and work-area policies. Key responsibilities include responding to complex inquiries, triaging visitors; ensuring that all administrative issues are addressed and resolved with discretion; and resolving technical problems as they arise and determining appropriate courses of action by interpreting precedents and past practices. A critical component of this role is managing logistical projects that require coordination across multiple stakeholders. As the military cadre are not MIT employees, this position serves as the essential link for all MIT-related financial, administrative, and asset management functions. This includes coordinating high-visibility events and providing logistical support for off-campus recruitment efforts.
