A sustainability coordinator supports environmental programs, helping the organization achieve sustainability goals. As a sustainability coordinator, your duties revolve around advising management and staff on product and program development. Your goal is to create initiatives within the company that reduce environmental damage. You usually work for a nonprofit organization or government agency, working with outside businesses, but you may also find work with large private companies looking to improve their impact on the environment. In this job, you will spend some of your time in an office. However, regular travel may be required. You may travel to meet with clients, learn about environmental health, or provide program support.
