SURVEY CREW CHIEF 

Burlington & New Berlin, Wisconsin | $33.00 - $48.00 per hour + Overtime Compensation + Bonus Potential

Take the lead in the field and help turn survey data into successful projects.

Lynch & Associates - Engineering Consultants, LLC is a growing multidisciplinary consulting firm with offices in Burlington and New Berlin, Wisconsin. We are seeking Survey Crew Chief I and II candidates with field-survey experience who enjoy working outdoors, using modern surveying equipment and software, and supporting a variety of civil engineering and land-surveying projects.

With a 3-10 year experience range, this opportunity can fit an experienced field surveyor who is ready to continue developing technical and crew-lead responsibilities within a collaborative Wisconsin engineering and surveying firm.

What You'll Do

  • Complete field-surveying tasks with final plans reviewed by a Professional Land Surveyor and work reviewed by a survey lead.
  • Use surveying equipment and survey software to gather field information for certified survey maps, plats of survey, topographic surveys, construction layout and staking.
  • Perform field surveying and construction staking services.
  • Perform construction observation services when needed.
  • Communicate with project teams across Lynch & Associates offices.
  • Provide limited direction to staff on project-specific tasks and limited communication with clients, peers and agencies.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather and terrain and provide overtime when necessary to meet project deadlines.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-10 years of relevant surveying experience.
  • Associate degree plus 2 or more years of experience, or comparable work experience.
  • Working knowledge of surveying equipment, survey software and field-survey procedures.
  • Experience with topographic surveys, construction layout/staking, certified survey maps and/or plats of survey is highly valuable.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to meet Lynch & Associates automotive-insurability requirements.
  • Ability to perform the position's field requirements, including working in inclement weather and varying terrain, standing/walking for several hours, and lifting up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
