Surrogate cases refer to legal cases that are handled in a Surrogate's Court, which primarily deals with matters related to wills, estates, and the administration of a deceased person's assets. The court oversees the probate process, appoints executors or administrators, and settles disputes over inheritances. Surrogate cases may also involve guardianship proceedings for minors or incapacitated adults.
