The Office of Student Life oversees university housing, campus activities, fraternity/sorority life, religious life, student government, all campus organizations, along with many other events.
Job Description
The Chief Greek Village House Manager is a High Point University student with responsibility for the development of a community atmosphere. The CGVHM helps the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life manage the living area for the student staff, residents, and facility itself. The CGVHM will serve as leaders on campus, within a residence hall/area, and among the Greek Village House Manager staff. The CGVHM is an integral part of the Fraternity and Sorority Life team as the position serves their specific community and the entire campus through response to crisis incidents while serving as a liaison between the Office if Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Office of Residence Life.
Job Location/ Hours Required
The candidate will perform most/all job duties in Greek Village properties and Webb Conference Center. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
The CGVHM role is a hybrid role with responsibilities that combine that of a Greek Village House Manager and the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life. Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist the Director with supervision, training and evaluation of Greek Village House Managers in an assigned residence hall or residential area.

  • Assist the Director with the maintenance of residence halls in cooperation with Campus Enhancement, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, and the Office of Residence Life

  • Provide advice, support, assistance and referrals to GVHMs and residents regarding academic, housing, personal or other concerns. Assist in the oversight and implementation of programming in the residence halls.

  • Maintain a weekly office hour schedule of 3 office hour(s) a week

  • Assist the Director with administrative functions for day-to-day operation of the assigned residence hall/area including managing cases in Maxient.

  • Assist GVHMs and RAs with roommate mediations.

  • Attend monthly SRA meetings in conjunction with the Office of Residence Life.

  • Attend, plan, and lead biweekly staff meetings for your area staff.

  • Chief Greek Village House Managers will be assigned special projects throughout the academic year including, but not limited to leading RA/GVHM training, working and leading special events, etc.

  • Be informed on Fraternity and Sorority Life policies and Residence Life policies

  • Serve in an evening and 6/8-hour weekday/weekend duty rotation system.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Applicants must have served as a Resident Assistant or Greek Village House Manager for 1 academic year (2 semesters)

  • Maintain a 2.5 semester and cumulative GPA

  • Be in good standing with the respective organization

  • Be in good standing with the Office of Community Standards

  • Cannot hold any other on-campus employment positions
