Full Time Office Clerk

Dohrn Transfer is a leading Midwest LTL Carrier providing less-than-truckload, truckload, and value-added services throughout our 10-state service area. Dohrn is currently seeking a Full Time Office Clerk at our Rock Island, IL terminal.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Pay: $18.50/Hour

Benefits: Health / Vision / Dental insurance, 401k matching, life insurance, short/long term disability and more.

Position Summary:

To locate and correctly place over, short, damaged, and missing freight and prevent claims.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • We will train; previous trucking experience is not necessary.
  • Office experience is a plus.
  • Daily telephone and written communication with internal and external customers.
  • Review manifests, bills of lading and delivery receipts.
  • Assist terminals and customers in regards to over, short and damaged freight.
  • Request dispositions for redelivery, reconsignment and returns.
  • Locate missing freight
  • Research mis-delivered freight & ensure it gets delivered correctly
  • Billing of disposition freight.
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School completion or equivalent
  • Valid Driver License
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented, problem-solver, self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain great relationships with customers
  • Ability to work in a team as well as individually
  • Excellent attendance

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time
  • May be occasionally required to exert up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are
  • Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
  • Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
  • Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others
