Arbour Specialty is seeking a motivated Personal Lines Underwriter to join our underwriting team. In this role, you'll evaluate and price risks, build strong agency partnerships, and contribute directly to profitable business growth. What You'll Do

As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for managing new and renewal business while ensuring underwriting decisions align with company guidelines and profitability objectives. You'll work closely with independent agents, assess risk exposures, and help drive business development efforts.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and underwriting new business submissions, renewals, endorsements, and policy changes
  • Evaluating risks and making sound underwriting decisions within your authority
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with independent agency partners
  • Communicating coverage decisions, modifications, and underwriting requirements to agents
  • Conducting agency visits to strengthen relationships and support profitable growth

What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of underwriting experience
  • Property & Casualty license required
  • Surplus Lines license required
  • Knowledge of Excess & Surplus Lines insurance products and markets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently while contributing as a collaborative team member
