Position: Student Support Manager
Position Type: Full-Time, Days
Location: Fairfax, VA

What the Student Support Manager does:

  • Develop and oversee individualized and group behavior support programs designed to improve student outcomes.
  • Consult with educational teams to identify behavioral concerns and develop function-based interventions and positive behavior support strategies.
  • Conduct behavioral assessments and utilize data to develop and revise Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Provide direct behavioral support to students, including crisis prevention, crisis intervention, social-emotional skill development, reinforcement strategies, and behavior coaching.
  • Participate in student meetings, including IEP meetings, review meetings, re-entry meetings, and other student support meetings.
  • Train, coach, and support teachers and support staff on research-based behavior management strategies and interventions.
  • Provide ongoing consultation, feedback, and monitoring to ensure behavior plans are implemented with fidelity.
  • Assist with interviewing, supervising, and evaluating behavior staff and Dedicated Aides.
  • Support behavioral programming through staff coaching, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to behavior interventions and emergency procedures.
  • Analyze behavioral data to strengthen programs and improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with families, LEA representatives, transportation providers, and community partners regarding student progress and behavioral needs.
  • Participate in student referral and intake processes, including file reviews, intake meetings, and placement recommendations.
  • Serve as a member of the school leadership team and support school-wide behavioral initiatives.

What the Student Support Manager brings to the team:

  • Advanced degree in Psychology, Education, Behavior Analysis, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in behavior analysis, behavior intervention, crisis prevention/intervention, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of functional behavior assessment, behavior intervention planning, and therapeutic school environments.
  • Demonstrated experience using data to guide decision-making and improve student outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. 
  • BCBA credential preferred.
  • Experience supervising staff and supporting quality improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Experience working with students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental disabilities preferred.
