Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Operating Company: Environmental Solutions Group - Marathon Equipment
Location: Vernon, AL
Reports to: Senior Director, Advanced Manufacturing
Department: Manufacturing and Operations
POSITION SUMMARY:
Help implement and support day to day activities and coordinating all phases of the Maintenance Department in such a manner as to promote efficiency and cost control while reducing downtime in accordance with applicable Company and regulatory guidelines.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
  • Drive safety and environmental compliance.
  • Lead and own the safety metrics and safety-training program for department.
  • Investigate incidents and initiate root cause corrective actions within the department.
  • Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Conduct 5S and safety audits, inspections, and support Kaizen Events.
  • Support, plan and supervise Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and repair programs to ensure compliance to long and short-range goals.
  • Use and oversee Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and Reporting.
  • Lead and own the safety and safety-training program for department.
  • Monitor and document maintenance and repair activities in CMMS; work with Manager to coordinate assignments with other departments and contractor activities.
  • Engage team members in collaborative problem solving.
  • Support and Supervise directions from Manager for overhaul and other major maintenance and repair activities to achieve maximum unit availability within budgeted costs.
  • Support and training for the development of maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure that maintenance and repair activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, company practices and procedures.
  • Take an active role in supporting quality initiatives such as QS9000 and ISO14001.
  • Maintains cleanliness and order of work area, equipment, and tools.
  • Learns and participates in problem solving methods to support objectives.
  • Performs other various duties as required.
  • Up to 15% travel will be needed for this role.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience including supervisory experience. Previous Maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment required.
  • Complete working knowledge of plant maintenance and systems.
  • Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC and PLC knowledge to assist to trouble shoot problems.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic). AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to plan, schedule, direct and review work of more than one functional area; deal effectively with team members, develop improved procedures as needed; interpret company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to assume a leadership role makes effective decisions, and exercise good judgment, particularly in unexpected or abnormal situations.
  • Must demonstrate integrity, accountability, and dependability.
  • Comfortable in all working environments, indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to interface with vendors and contractors.
  • Ability to interface with employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must be flexible to work either day or night shifts and open to the weekend work.
  • Ability to respond to problems on short or no notice.
  • Essential Physical Requirements: Climb stairs and ladders. Work at heights and with adverse conditions during operation and when participating in fire and emergency activities. Enter and work in a confined space. Must be able to accurately read and interpret instruments and gauge. Pass a respirator physical and respirator fit test. Hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communication.

Continual Improvement and Problem Resolution: Identifies and communicates suggestions for work improvements. Uses technical and analytical abilities to ensure existing work practices are the most efficient and cost effective possible. Performs root-cause analysis and implements viable, permanent solutions to problems. Works with both internal and external customers to develop solutions which meet company-wide needs and objectives. Applies a sense of urgency to resolve problems or creates opportunities that will increase productivity and create value. Shares best practices with other employees across the business.
