Description
The Middlebury College Summer Hebrew School is pleased to announce a vacancy for a temporary Yoga Instructor. The position is available during the summer 2018 session, located on Middlebury College campus in Vermont. Our unique programs combine a cultural immersion environment with rigorous daily classroom instruction. This is an opportunity to join a community of learners, by actively engaging in teaching, dining, residing, and recreating with students while reading, writing, and speaking exclusively in Hebrew.
Our school is looking for a yoga instructor who is passionate about helping students learn yoga and who love to lead students through exercises that help improve well-being. The successful candidate can speak Hebrew as a foreign language, being native or near native in Hebrew and the ability to lead co-curricular activities. Instructor will guide students through yoga positions and breathing techniques and ensure a safe environment for those in attendance.
General responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead classes in Hebrew
  • Lead yoga classes according to the assigned schedule
  • Teach safe, effective exercises to a variety of populations
  • Maintain a current yoga certification
  • Wear proper attire
  • Adhere to employee standards of conduct
  • Completing all contact hours assigned.
  • Attend school specific, all school events, meals, and other specified activities.
  • Work cooperatively with others and accept direction from supervisor.
  • Other duties are performed as assigned.

In addition to the salary, lodging and a complete meal plan will be provided.
Qualifications
The Success candidate will hold appropriate yoga credentials and can take students through cohesive yoga sequences, choose appropriate music, and effectively correct form.
  • The successful candidate should possess a Hold a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Instructor - 200 hour level (RYT-200) or yoga certification from a NCCA agency.
  • Have a CPR/AED certification
  • Maintain a positive and energetic attitude
  • Be passionate about fitness

Have 1-2 years of experience leading yoga classes
