Counselor

Camp Dates: July 1st to August 11th (six weeks, camp is closed July 3rd)

Hours: 8:00 to 3:45

Camp Location: Port Washington New York

Salary: $1,700 plus the possibility of tips

Ages of Campers: pre k to 6th grade

Applicants must be at least 17 years old and a high school graduate by the start of camp, with prior experience working with children and a genuine desire and ability to work with campers of all ages. The position involves supervising a group of 20 to 25 campers while ensuring a safe and healthy environment at all times. Responsibilities include mediating camper conflicts and providing constructive solutions, seeking assistance when necessary, and actively participating in all programs, activities, and special events in support of program leaders. Candidates must attend all required orientation and training sessions and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with responsibility, dependability, patience, and understanding.
