Must have a can-do attitude, great customer service skills, and a desire to enhance the fitness and wellness of our members and their guests! Background working in a Fitness/Wellness environment a plus!
Position Purpose and Objectives
Do you have a passion for wellness, movement, and helping others feel their best? As a Yoga Instructor at Desert Highlands, you'll create inspiring and energizing experiences for our members through thoughtfully designed yoga classes that welcome all skill levels. You'll guide participants through safe and effective practices, encourage mindfulness and healthy living, and foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere where members can grow in strength, balance, and confidence. If you love building connections, sharing your expertise, and making a meaningful impact on others' wellness journeys, we'd love to hear from you!
Requirements
Essential Position Functions
  • Plan and lead yoga classes for members with varying skill levels and physical abilities.
  • Demonstrate and instruct proper yoga postures, breathing techniques, and movement principles.
  • Provide modifications and alternative poses to accommodate individual needs and abilities.
  • Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive class environment.
  • Monitor participant safety and provide guidance to help prevent injuries.
  • Maintain awareness of member limitations and health concerns.
  • Arrive prepared and set up equipment or class space before each session.
  • Promote wellness programs and encourage member participation.
  • Maintain professional certifications and continuing education requirements.
  • Follow all club policies, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.
  • Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Must have a High School Diploma.
  • Current Yoga Instructor certification from a recognized organization (Yoga Alliance or equivalent).
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
  • Previous yoga teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and member service skills.
  • Ability to adapt instruction to various fitness levels and physical abilities.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Ability to demonstrate yoga poses and movements.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, stretch, and move throughout class instruction.
  • Ability to lift and carry yoga equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fitness and wellness environment.
