What are summer missionaries?

Summer missionaries are individuals, often students or young adults, who dedicate part of their summer to serving in mission work, usually through a church or religious organization. They may travel locally or internationally to help with outreach programs, community service, evangelism, or youth camps. The goal is to share their faith, assist local communities, and gain spiritual and personal growth through hands-on service. Summer missionaries typically receive training and support from their sponsoring organization and may work in teams. Their work can have a lasting impact both on the communities they serve and on their own lives.
