Summary

The Systems Engineering (SE) Co-op will work within the Systems Engineering team assisting with the development of a requirement reuse library, and disciplined, System Architectural support elements to influence the design and life cycle support for flight simulation training devices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of a Requirements Reuse Library and other program requirements tasks.

  • Assist with development of Architectural Design Packages (ADP).

  • Assist with Architectural Material Lists (AML) and Bill of Materials (BOM).

  • Assist with the Reference Architecture.

  • Interface with CAE Engineering team to provide feedback to design, reliability, acquisition, and obsolescence

  • Provide briefings to management and customers on program logistics related progress and technical issues

  • Gather data and prepare reports, as necessary.

  • Provide administrative and technical support to Engineering department.

  • Assist Systems Engineers/System Architects/Requirements Engineers, when needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree (or higher level) college/university program majoring in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and in your junior year or higher

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products

  • Must be willing to learn new procedures and applications

  • Must have good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

  • Must be detail-oriented

  • Must be customer service-oriented

  • Must be willing to learn new procedures and applications

  • Must have excellent communication skills

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a military simulation and training environment

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret advanced documents and publications

  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations to management and the customer at program/project reviews and meetings

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact well with all levels of customer/team personnel

  • Familiarity with the Systems Engineering lifecycle, a plus

  • Familiarity with design and documentation of Computer and Networking Systems, a plus

  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), a plus

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

  • Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • May be required to be in a sitting position for long lengths of time.

  • Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator

  • Must be able to support rack mounted equipment (Up to 7 feet off the ground)

  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
