Summary
The Tax Manager will manage key aspects of U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance, provision, and audit support, with exposure to international tax matters. This role will work closely with the Senior Tax Manager to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting, maintain compliance with applicable laws, and support process improvements. The Tax Manager will also assist in developing internal technical capabilities and maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration.
Compensation
$89,000 - $113,000 yearly salary range. (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
Responsibilities
1. U.S. Income Tax Compliance & Review
- Review federal and state income tax returns, ensuring accuracy of calculations, supporting schedules, and apportionment data.
- Confirm timely payment of estimated taxes and final liabilities to prevent interest or penalty exposure.
- Support consolidated tax filings and intercompany transaction reporting, with a focus on correct tax treatment.
2. State and Local Tax Compliance
- Review various state and local tax filings (e.g., WA B&O, OH CAT, Property tax) for accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor and assess changes in tax laws to proactively adjust compliance processes.
- Validate calculations for state tax credits and incentive programs to maximize benefit and avoid qualification risks.
3. Tax Provision and Financial Reporting
- Review quarterly and annual tax provision workpapers, including current and deferred tax calculations, to ensure GAAP/ASC 740 compliance.
- Verify journal entries and SAP tax postings for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain well-documented support files to be audit-ready at all times.
4. Transfer Pricing Support
- Review intercompany transaction documentation for consistency with transfer pricing policies and IRC §482.
- Coordinate with external advisors, ensuring that data provided is accurate and complete.
5. Audit and Risk Management
- Serve as a key support in federal and state audits, providing accurate, well-supported responses.
- Implement and maintain review checklists and internal controls to minimize risks of penalties or amended filings.
- Conduct post-filing reviews to identify improvement areas and strengthen processes.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with HR on payroll tax compliance and taxable fringe benefit reviews.
- Work closely with Accounting to validate tax-related SAP postings and reconciliations.
- Coordinate with Legal, Treasury, Operations, and IT to ensure compliance is integrated into key business processes.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff on review standards and risk management.

Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems such as SAP

Education & Experience
  • Bachelors Required
  • 6 - 11 years of direct experience in Finance, Accounting
