Summary

The Procurement Planning Administrator is responsible for developing and executing logistics procurement strategies, managing supplier evaluation programs, and supporting sourcing initiatives that enhance procurement effectiveness and competitive advantage across the Americas region. The role oversees procurement governance, process standardization, procurement systems administration, market intelligence, and continuous improvement efforts while collaborating with regional subsidiaries and crossโ€‘functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence and cost efficiency. Additionally, the position analyzes supplier performance, procurement data, and industry trends to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and strengthen regional procurement capabilities. Success in the role requires strong logistics procurement and supply chain knowledge, supplier relationship management skills, analytical and data interpretation capabilities, procurement systems expertise, process improvement proficiency, and the ability to effectively collaborate across diverse business functions and regional organizations.

Compensation

$33/hr

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute logistics procurement strategies that support business growth, strengthen competitive positioning, and optimize logistics service sourcing across the region.
  • Lead supplier sourcing and market research activities to identify, qualify, and maintain a network of competitive logistics service providers.
  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance supplier evaluation frameworks, including customized assessment criteria aligned with specific logistics business requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, analyze assessment results, and provide recommendations to support supplier selection, development, and procurement decisionโ€‘making.
  • Develop and maintain procurement analytics tools and methodologies to assess supplier quotations, cost competitiveness, and sourcing effectiveness.
  • Manage and continuously improve the GPMS (Glovis Procurement Management System) to enhance procurement visibility, operational efficiency, and data integrity.
  • Identify and resolve logistics procurement challenges by developing practical solutions that improve sourcing outcomes, service performance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Design, implement, and maintain logistics procurement policies, procedures, and standard operating processes to support consistency, governance, and operational excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives through process optimization, strategic sourcing practices, and procurement best practices.
  • Collaborate with regional subsidiaries and crossโ€‘functional stakeholders to align procurement activities, share best practices, and support organizational objectives.
  • Analyze industry trends, market conditions, and emerging procurement strategies to identify opportunities and provide recommendations that strengthen procurement performance.
  • Develop and implement procurement initiatives that improve efficiency, supplier performance, cost competitiveness, and overall logistics procurement effectiveness.

Traveling domestic and internationally up to 20%

Skills
  • High knowledge of the United States logistics and transportation industry.
  • Proved experience with planning and strategy in a large international corporation.
  • Strong analytics skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools,MS office suite and database management.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Critical thinking, planning, problemโ€‘solving, and organizational skills.
  • Thorough understanding of sourcing and procurement methodologies: including spend analysis, supplier screening, benchmarking, cleanโ€‘sheet costing, negotiations, supplier performance management, scorecards, contracting, and costโ€‘savings
Education & EXperience
  • Bachelor's Required
  • 5 โ€“ 8 years of direct experience in Procurement, Supply Chain
