Job description

The Neuroscience Program at the University of St. Thomas invites applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach one or more undergraduate courses in Neuroscience. Courses may include any of our regular offerings (found here), or a course developed by the faculty member in their area of expertise. Teaching load is generally one or two lecture sections per semester and may include laboratory section(s).

Recruitment for this position is continuous. Qualified applicants join a pool from which Adjunct Faculty members are selected, typically in the spring, summer, and fall for classes during the following semester. Selections in any semester depend on program needs and enrollment.

Salary for Adjunct Faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences is determined by academic credential and years of teaching experience, ranging from $5,994 to $6,717 per 4-credit undergraduate course, with additional salary for laboratory sections.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Adjunct faculty teaching in the Neuroscience Program are expected to deliver instruction using student-engaged, high-impact pedagogical approaches, to provide timely feedback to students regarding their grades and course progress, and to maintain a high quality of instruction in a student-centered environment.


Qualifications

We will consider applications from candidates with a master's degree or equivalent training in neuroscience and related fields. Candidates who have a PhD, and graduate students who have completed all coursework requirements for the PhD (i.e., "ABD" or "dissertator" status) are encouraged to apply.
