THE ROLE & SCHEDULE
  • We are looking for a camp coach with an athletic or coaching background who ideally has experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4 - 9
  • KidStrong Camp Coach would focus on coaching children on brain, physical, and character development that stems from a designed camp curriculum
  • Ideal candidate must also be comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding any incidents that take place during camp
  • Camps typically run when school is out, from 9 am - 2:30 pm *may vary depending on locations - the ideal candidate will be available during those hours
  • Additional opportunity to increase scheduled hours through private party coaching hours & KidStrong Class coaching - may require additional training
COACH RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Camp sizes of up to 20 children, ages ranging from 4 - 9
  • Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team
  • Must be able to ensure camp both start and ends on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum
  • Greet students as well as parent(s)/guardian(s) as they arrive to camp
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading camp
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises
  • Keep an accurate record of attendance at all times
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift
  • Effectively use the KS Coachs App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.)
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers
  • Complete training through LearnUpon as required by the HQ Training and Certification team
  • Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through camp, lift and repeatedly moving equipment up to 25 pounds in weight.
  • Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.
  • Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by KidStrong Director
  • Must obtain camp-certified status from the HQ Training and Certification team
  • Supervision, safety, and program implementation for campers while ensuring the well-being of all children

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Passion for working with children is non-negotiable!
  • Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age is preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics is preferred
  • CPR certified
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-starter who just gets a job done
