Job description

Scope of Position: The Coordinator, Staff Development role is responsible for the recruiting, retention, and development of Summer Staff at an assigned camp location(s). This role participates in the development and execution of the WinShape Camps Global Recruiting Strategy under the direction of the Team Leader, Recruiting and a camp-specific supervisor. This role sets goals for recruiting and retention initiatives and is accountable for the results of those initiatives alongside their assigned team. This role is onsite at assigned camp locations in the summer to facilitate the care and development of Summer Staff as a critical ministry outcome.

  • Support the recruiting work team and participate in the development and execution of the global staff recruiting strategy. 
  • Assigned to a camp-specific team to lead the development and execution of that team’s Summer Staff retention & recruiting efforts. Accountable for the results of the initiatives. 
  • Lead the annual planning and execution of global recruiting initiatives (Road Crew, Adopt-A-Campus Coordination, Campus Rep Program). Accountable for the results of the initiative. 
  • Act as Adopt-A-Campus Team Captain for one of our targeted schools, as assigned. 
  • Analyze, interpret, and disseminate recruiting and onboarding data to adjust strategies. 
  • Manage recruiting inventory and parts of the Staff Development budget. 
  • Plan Sunday Staff worship experiences and staff care experiences for your camp-specific team during the summer. Engage in developmental and discipleship opportunities for Summer Staff in the summer and throughout the year.  
  • Recruit the designated number of Campus Rep & Road Crew applicants from assigned camp location(s) during the summer season.  
  • Coordinate Summer Staff socials and banquetsat assigned locations. 

  • Requires a minimum of 2+ years of camp, church, ministry and/or other relevant work experience  
  • Travel up to 35% throughout the year 
  • Willing to move onsite to a camp location during the active camp season and/or engage in heavy travel (75-100%) based on assigned camp location 
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook 
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully handling confidential information and executing multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Provencommunication, interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills 
  • A self-professing Christ follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community and consistently pursuing Christ 
  • Must hold or obtain a valid driver’s license for the state in which they are hired and have an acceptable driving record
