Job description

Description:

CamFit is a multi-studio Orangetheory Fitness franchisee committed to delivering a world-class fitness experience through science-backed, heart rate-based interval training. In 60 minutes, our members reach their optimal heart rate zones, burn calories, and build a stronger, healthier life. Every role at CamFit is a role in changing lives.

We are a people-first organization. We hire for energy, develop for excellence, and promote from within.

Why This Role Matters

In Silver and Bronze studios, the Head Coach is the studio. There is no Studio Manager to split responsibilities with, which means you own the coaching product, the business performance, the team, the member experience, and the culture.

This is one of the most complete leadership roles in the CamFit network. It is built for a coach who is ready to lead the full studio experience and grow into what comes next.

Job Summary

As Head Coach and Head of Household in a Silver or Bronze studio, you carry the full scope of both the Head Coach and Studio Manager functions. You lead the coaching team, own sales performance, manage studio operations, drive membership growth, and create a culture that members and staff want to be part of.

You will coach classes, lead the intro class experience, manage coach and sales associate performance, oversee studio readiness, and partner closely with your Regional Business Manager to improve business results.

What You'll Do

Coaching Excellence & Class Delivery
  • Coach a minimum of 15 classes per week, with flexibility to coach additional classes based on studio needs.
  • Deliver high-quality, high-energy Orangetheory Fitness classes in alignment with brand standards.
  • Own the overall quality of every class delivered in the studio.
  • Monitor safety, form, heart rate zones, and member engagement across all sessions.
  • Ensure the fitness floor is prepared, organized, and ready for every class.
Intro Class Experience & Membership Conversion
  • Ensure every first-time member receives a personalized intro experience before or after their first class.
  • Deliver a membership recommendation based on each prospective memberโ€™s goals, schedule, and lifestyle.
  • Connect each prospective memberโ€™s needs to the appropriate membership option.
  • Close every intro conversation with a clear, confident recommendation and invitation to join.
  • Track intro class completion and follow-up.
  • Own intro conversion as a performance metric, not just a sales task.
Sales Leadership & Revenue Performance
  • Own studio revenue performance, including new memberships, renewals, and retail.
  • Execute lead generation strategies, community outreach, and in-studio marketing campaigns.
  • Manage the full sales process from inquiry to signed membership.
  • Hold the team accountable to daily and weekly sales activity.
  • Provide weekly KPI reporting to the Regional Business Manager.
  • Use business performance data to identify gaps and take action quickly.
Coach Development & Team Leadership
  • Lead, manage, and develop the full coaching team.
  • Build and maintain the coaching schedule using MindBody Online.
  • Conduct regular coach check-ins, class observations, and performance conversations.
  • Partner with the Regional Fitness Training Manager on formal evaluations, certification readiness, and development plans.
  • Lead onboarding and training for all new coaches.
  • Manage coach payroll and timecard accuracy.
Sales Associate Leadership
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop sales associates.
  • Hold sales associates accountable to daily and weekly performance targets.
  • Manage front-of-house culture and ensure a consistent, high-quality member experience.
  • Conduct sales associate payroll review, timecard accuracy, and processing.
  • Ensure the front desk team understands how to support the member journey from first inquiry through membership.
Studio Culture & Member Engagement
  • Build a studio community that members talk about, where people come for the workout and stay for the people.
  • Create regular touchpoints with members beyond class, including recognition, milestone celebrations, challenges, and events.
  • Model the energy, professionalism, and culture you expect from the team.
  • Create a studio environment that feels clean, welcoming, accountable, and high-performing.
Talent Pipeline & Team Building
  • Actively recruit coaches and sales associates from within the member base.
  • Personally invite high-potential members to consider a role at CamFit.
  • Support interested members in pursuing approved fitness certifications.
  • Maintain an ongoing pipeline of qualified candidates so the studio is never hiring out of desperation.
  • Own staffing as a leadership responsibility, not just an HR function.
Studio Cleanliness, Facilities & Operations
  • Maintain a second-to-none cleanliness standard across the fitness floor, lobby, locker rooms, restrooms, and back-of-house areas.
  • Address cleanliness issues immediately and hold the team accountable to studio standards.
  • Report all repair and maintenance needs through the companyโ€™s facilities ticketing system.
  • Follow up on open maintenance tickets until they are resolved.
  • Execute and document monthly preventative maintenance standards on schedule.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of studio equipment and facility systems so issues can be identified before they become outages.
  • Own studio operations, including scheduling, class reconciliation, attendance tracking, late cancel processing, inventory, payroll, and overall studio readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with all brand, safety, and operational standards.

What You Own

  • Coaching quality and class execution
  • Coach development and daily team leadership
  • Sales performance and membership growth
  • Sales associate performance and development
  • Studio operations and readiness
  • Intro process from start to finish
  • Coach and sales associate talent pipeline
  • Member experience and community
  • Cleanliness, facilities, and preventative maintenance
  • Payroll, timecards, inventory, and cost controls
  • Studio culture and team accountability

Required Qualifications

  • Current nationally recognized fitness certification from an OTF-approved provider, such as ACSM, ACE PT/GFI, NASM, NSCA, or AFAA PT/GFI
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Orangetheory Fitness Coach certification or ability to obtain
  • 2โ€“3 years of coaching experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operations and lead a team
  • Strong sales acumen and comfort managing revenue performance
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a studio management or Head Coach role
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Exercise Science, Business, or a related field
  • Familiarity with MindBody Online or similar scheduling/CRM systems

This Role is Right for You If...

  • You are a coach who has outgrown just coaching and wants to build something.
  • You hold others to high standards because you hold yourself to higher ones first.
  • You see a struggling team member and your instinct is to develop them, not manage around them.
  • You can run a great class at 6 AM and have a hard performance conversation at 10 AM.
  • You want ownership, responsibility, and a clear path to larger leadership opportunities.
  • You understand that strong studios are built through coaching, sales, operations, culture, and accountability working together.
