Style Director information

What is a style director?

Style Directors are creative professionals responsible for shaping and overseeing the visual and aesthetic direction of fashion brands, magazines, or media outlets. They lead teams of stylists, collaborate with photographers, designers, and editors, and set trends through editorial shoots, advertising campaigns, and runway shows. Their work ensures that the brand or publication has a cohesive and appealing visual identity that resonates with its target audience.

How does a style director typically collaborate with design, marketing, and merchandising teams?

A Style Director works closely with design teams to ensure that creative concepts align with the brand's overall vision and seasonal trends. They also partner with marketing teams to craft campaigns that effectively showcase products and communicate the intended aesthetic to the target audience. Additionally, Style Directors collaborate with merchandising teams to ensure that product selections and in-store displays reflect the current style direction, supporting cohesive storytelling across all consumer touchpoints. This role is highly collaborative, requiring strong communication and leadership skills to bring together diverse teams toward a unified brand image.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a style director, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Style Director, you need a strong background in fashion design, trend analysis, and brand development, typically supported by a degree in fashion or related fields and significant industry experience. Expertise with digital design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with trend forecasting platforms are commonly required. Exceptional leadership, creative vision, and strong communication skills help a Style Director inspire teams and maintain a cohesive brand identity. These skills ensure the creation of innovative, market-relevant styles that drive brand success and industry influence.

EVP of Sales, Business Development and Marketing

Strategic Employment

Camarillo, CA • On-site

$200K - $250K/yr

Full-time

Re-posted 23 days ago

Job description

EVP of Sales, Business Development and Marketing — Camarillo, CA

A well-established, privately-held company in the product lifecycle and supply chain solutions space is seeking a senior commercial executive to lead its global Sales, Business Development, and (over time) Marketing functions. Founded over four decades ago, the company has built a defensible niche solving complex parts sourcing, repair, and remanufacturing challenges for major customers in renewable energy, medical imaging, and technology hardware. This is a true executive seat, reporting directly to the CEO and inheriting an established, specialized parts sourcing team from day one.

You'll own commercial strategy end to end, personally engage Fortune 500-level technical buyers, and have real room to revive dormant strategic partnerships the company hasn't pursued in years.

Base is $200K-$250K, with an uncapped performance bonus built to at least double that in a strong year, and equity becomes a real conversation after year one.

If this sounds like a fit, apply now!

Title: EVP of Sales, Business Development and Marketing
Location: Camarillo, CA — fully on-site 5x/week (no remote/hybrid exceptions); heavy domestic and international travel
Compensation: $200K-$250K base, uncapped performance bonus, phantom stock potential after year one

Must-Haves:

  • Proven senior sales/revenue leadership with a demonstrated ability to personally source and build your own team, not solely reliant on internal recruiting
  • Consultative, trust-based, long-cycle enterprise sales background — not a transactional or high-pressure style
  • Direct or closely adjacent industry experience: medical imaging, renewable energy (wind/solar), IT/electronics, or adjacent hardware logistics, repair, remanufacturing, or OEM parts/supply chain
  • Comfort managing or absorbing a highly specialized, technical sourcing/supply chain function without disrupting it prematurely
  • Ability to engage sophisticated, technical buyers (engineers, procurement) credibly at the executive level
  • Must reside within the LA/Ventura County area (within ~60 miles of Camarillo) or be willing to relocate at your own cost

Strong Pluses:

  • Bachelor's degree (MBA a further plus); exceptional non-degree candidates with a strong track record still considered
  • Background at an OEM (medical imaging or renewable energy) in a parts, service, or supply chain function
  • Experience building or reviving strategic channel or co-location partnerships
  • Engineering background or strong technical fluency
  • Track record running both long-cycle (12-24 month) and fast/emergency sales cycles

*US Citizens and Permanent Residents are welcome to apply. Unable to provide sponsorship at this time.*
