Job Description
The Student Safety Ambassador is a non-sworn part-time employee under the supervision of the NKU Police Shift Supervisor or their designees. Their employment will give them work experience in safety, and community service.
Primary Responsibilities
Duties include but not limited to:
Safety patrols
For the purpose of observing any suspicious activity or dangerous situation and reporting said observations to the proper authority. Also to provide customer service to lost pedestrians or motorist and people needing assistance.
Student Safety Ambassadors are to be familiar with the geography and rules of the University so that they can provide accurate information and directions to those persons needing assistance.
Student Safety Ambassadors need to be familiar with the offices on campus and the resources they provide to the community.
Call response- Respond to requests for service in non-criminal situations such as.
Door Openings
Motorist assists- battery jumps, vehicle lock outs
Package delivery
Lost item turn-ins
Crowd Control-
Assist with direction of pedestrian and motorist traffic during large events on campus. Also help insure the safety of all participants at said event.
Traffic Control
Assist with student and motorist traffic during class changes to and from the residential village.
Safety Escorts
Respond to community members needing an escort across campus.
Event Participation
Be involved in community events hosted by the University Police department and other departments on campus.
Qualifications
Must be enrolled as a full-time NKU Student
Student must be sophomore or above status.
Good standing with the University.
A cumulative 2.5 or above GPA
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Minimum Education
1-2 Years of College
Pay Rate
10.00 per hour
