Student Government Accounting Student Staff

WORKING TITLE: SGA Student Staff
DEPARTMENT: Student Government Accounting (SGA)
PAY RATE: $19.75/hour
HOURS: 10–15 hours/week; Mon–Fri between 7:00am–7:00pm
Summer availability preferred

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Audit and process requisitions for USAC and GSA funding disbursement
● Generate purchase orders, and process vendor invoices
● Input and maintain accurate data in accounting systems
● Ability to identify variances, discrepancies and provide appropriate resolutions.
● Prepare and distribute weekly checks.
● Communicate with Finance Commissioner, Funding Directors, and student organization leaders to resolve requisition issues
● Respond to student inquiries in person, by phone, and via email
● Perform administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, shredding and phone support
● Proofread and fact-check documents for accuracy
● Ensure compliance with funding policies and procedures
● Conduct high-volume data processing.

QUALIFICATIONS:
● Currently enrolled UCLA student
● Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Typing and data entry proficiency
● Willing to learn new software and processes
● Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred)

REQUIREMENTS:
● Available to work 10–15 hours per week during standard business hours
● Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful
● Demonstrates strong problem-solving and customer service abilities
● Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
