Job description

The City of Lincoln Park is accepting applications for the position of Full Time Police Officer.
The annual wage schedule effective 7/1/2026.
  • Start: $68,186.16
  • 6 months $71,674.54
  • 12 months $75,873.84
  • 18 months $78,800.59
  • 24 months $82,000.68
  • 30 months $86,750.75

The City shall have the right to place an employee up to the two (2) year starting wage based on previous law enforcement experience.
Minimum qualifications of applicant:
  • 21 years of age
  • Legally employable in the United States
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • No felony convictions
  • Valid State of Michigan Driver's License
  • Must meet all MCOLES employment standards
  • Certified or able to be certified as a Michigan Law Enforcement Officer. (Certified not required but preferred. The city offers opportunities for paid police academy training.)

All candidates must pass a background investigation, psychological and physical exam with drug screen.
During the application process, we request the following documents:
  • Copy of Birth Certificate or Certificate of Naturalization
  • Copy of High School Diploma or GED
  • Copy of valid State of Michigan Drivers License
  • Transcripts of all college or university work completed
  • Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) Pre-Employment Testing Results for written and physical agility tests
  • Copy of MCOLES Training Certification or College Diploma stating MCOLES Certifiable
  • Completed copy of the "Background Screening Application Form"
