Job description

The City of Elmira is currently recruiting a full-time Animal Control Officer.
This position, which is designated as a NYS Peace Officer, is responsible for enforcement of all State and local laws. Duties include but are not limited to; investigates and resolves complaints regarding animals which are homeless or in violation of state or local laws; issues appearance tickets of animal owners in violation of laws or ordinances; performs additional duties as assigned.
Excellent benefit package which includes NYS Retirement, vacation, sick and personal days, competitive wage, health, dental and vision. Starting pay is $41,654.00 a year.
