A student mentor is a volunteer student who meets with other students on or off campus to help them with their studies. In this position, your job duties are to help with homework or classroom questions. Other aspects of the mentoring role are to teach proper study habits and offer advice on classes to take. A student mentor can exist at the middle school, high school, or university level. Depending on the school, there are different requirements for becoming a student mentor. Most of the time, you have to pass an assessment or meet certain academic requirements.
