JOB DESCRIPTION:
To assist Librarians with general library functioning and assist students and teachers in library usage.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Process new books
  2. Access and clear fines and lost library books
  3. Overdue notices
  4. Report Card holds
  5. Laminating
  6. Train, supervise and grade student aides
  7. Train and supervise adult volunteers
  8. Withdraw students
  9. Keep daily statistics on computer
  10. Type book, supply and periodical orders
  11. Type bindery orders
  12. Type bibliographies on computer
  13. Type letters for guest author, memorial and thank you notes
  14. Type appreciation certificates
  15. Maintain time machines
  16. Pull books for displays and for teachers
  17. Take back money box at the end of each day
  18. Type monthly schedules on computer
  19. Type hold list of students who have over-dues
  20. Type book orders on computer
  21. Assist in Teacher Resource Center
  22. Get and send out get well cards
  23. Assist in inventory of books, and hardware in library and departments
  24. Clean and straighten AV room

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with children
