Job description

The Associate Director of Student Services provides quality programs and services that facilitate access and foster academic, career, and personal success for all students. The Associate Director of Student Services also provides support to the Director of Student Services. The Associate Director of Student Services position supports the Student Services function by providing a broad range of student activities that promote student engagement and professional development.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Offers placement assistance and career development to students and graduates Teaches students skills in resume writing Assists students with job searches and job search strategies Prepares students for interviews with interviewing techniques Provide job leads and maintains job bulletin board Informs students of job fairs and local recruitment effortsCoordinates and facilitates student activities Coordinates and facilitates Student Government Association and/or Phi Theta Kappa Assists other student organizations in housing minutes, rosters, records Assist in the coordination of the graduation ceremonies Participate in community and civic events Responsible for monthly student newsletter and all other student communicationProvides excellent customer service to students and handles their requests Communicates to students in a professional manner via telephone, email or in person Fulfills students requests for degree shipments, IDs, and all other student services inquiresDevelops and maintains employer relationships Provides placement assistance to employers Assist employers with resume referrals Administer job ordersMaintains accurate records and documentation Manages student databases Administer and log graduate surveys and alumni update forms Maintains accurate records on graduates Ensure graduates have completed all the necessary documentation and are cleared of all obligationsAssist the Student Services Director as requested Creation and upkeep of non-placement related bulletin boards on campus Routinely take pictures of campus events and students in the classroom Serving students lunch occasionally Escorting students to appropriate staff offices as neededThe Associate Director of Student Services should hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree and have at least two years of related experience. Managerial experience strongly preferred. The qualified candidate should have leadership, human resources and student experience and must be comfortable presenting in front of a classroom providing "workshops" on resumes and interviewing skills.
