Job description

Structural Designer/Drafter
Responsible for developing the layouts, structural plans, elevation views, and detailed drawings based on the 3D BIM model
Using AutoCAD, and 3D (CADWorx, a plus) for creating the 2D structural drawings for design approval and shop fabrication
Will utilize various drafting and CAD techniques to produce 2D drawings while working in a 3D design model environment for project requirements. For example, this would include drawings of industrial towers, pipe racks, skids, and platforms.
Provide detailed structural concrete, steel structure, and installation drawings for varied industrial construction projects
Provide structural component drawings and their connections to the structural steel and other structural materials
Following the company nomenclature and standards
Read and understand the structural drawings and the structural mark-ups from Engineering
Make thorough and accurate modifications to drawings and return drawings to Engineering on a timely basis
Follow company procedures to ensure that all drawings have the proper approvals before releasing updated drawings
2+ years of relevant experience in the industrial/chemical industry a plus
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a technical field a plus
Experience reading and understanding structural steel and civil engineering drawings
Familiar with the structural concrete and steel design detailing standards
Working knowledge of the civil/structural industrial projects
General experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Experienced in managing the revision process for structural/civil drawings
