Join the Seizmic TeamSeizmic, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated
Structural Designer to support the design and development of structural steel systems, including platforms, mezzanines, stairs, and cantilevers. This role is ideal for a drafting professional who enjoys precision work, collaboration, and transforming engineering concepts into accurate fabrication-ready drawings.
What You'll Doโข Produce 2D drawings and 3D models using CADD software (AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Revit, etc.)
โข Develop shop drawings and fabrication plans for structural steel components
โข Create layouts showing connections, load-bearing details, and assembly instructions
โข Interpret design specifications and collaborate with engineers and project managers
โข Ensure drawings meet applicable standards and project requirements
โข Revise drawings based on stakeholder feedback and project needs
โข Maintain organized drawing files and documentation
โข Support fabrication and installation teams with clear technical details
What We're Looking Forโข Proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Revit, or similar CADD platforms
โข Understanding of structural steel drafting and fabrication processes
โข Ability to produce accurate, high-quality technical drawings
โข Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
โข Effective communication and teamwork abilities
โข Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Requirements
Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications: - Proficiency in CADD software such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or Revit.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication methods, including cutting, welding, and assembly.
- Familiarity with structural load calculations, material properties, and fastening techniques. Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or certification in Computer-Aided Drafting, Design,
- 2+ years of experience in structural steel drafting, particularly platforms, mezzanines, stairs, and cantilevers.
Work Environment- This position is primarily office-based with occasional shop visits. The role involves extended computer work, visual review of technical drawings, and light lifting. PPE may be required when entering fabrication areas.
