Job description

Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

Office Location: White Plains & NYC - Hybrid work schedule

Salary: $100000-$140000 / Year + bonus

Benefits: Medical, Dental, 401k, Commuting Cost

Senior Structural Engineer

This role supports multiple concurrent projects and serves as a technical lead, completing complex structural engineering work while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating closely with project managers and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural analysis and design for complete building systems (gravity and lateral) using advanced software and hand calculations
  • Review and validate design criteria, calculations, and construction documents
  • Assign, train, and oversee junior engineers and production staff; set task schedules and expectations
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements
  • Interface directly with clients, design teams, contractors, and building officials
  • Perform site surveys, structural assessments, and construction-phase observations with written reporting
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, specifications, and regulatory forms
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals (scope/schedule/budget), and contribute to documentation production (AutoCAD/Revit)
  • Support problem-solving, quality control, and occasional marketing/visibility efforts

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer required
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or structural engineer
  • 4+ years of experience in structural analysis and design
  • M.S. Preferred
