Job description

Job Summary
Responsible for the design, development, alteration, or modification of shelter drawings and structural systems as assigned by the department manager.
Essential Job Functions
  • Prepares a wide variety of detailed drawings for the shelter and electrical design and is responsible for their accuracy.
  • Breaks down information obtained from the bid letter, customer specification, customer supplied drawings and electrical designer drawings to do shelter design.
  • Performs a variety of calculations following standard procedures.
  • Prepare work orders (detailed BOM) while drawings are in progress.
  • Works on projects of significant complexity composing of mainly single concrete shelters with exposure to lightweight metal and multipiece shelters.
  • Completes projects with minimal supervision.
  • Assists other designers as needed.
  • Checks/Marks up team members drawings as required.
  • Renders technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff or customers as needed.
  • Possible travel as needed.
  • Performs other assigned duties as required by management.

  • Four (4) years Structural/Civil Engineering degree preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years on the job Structural Engineering/Designing experience.
  • AutoCAD or Revit
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer programs: Windows, Word, Excel, the latest release of AutoCAD, the latest release of Revit.
  • Knowledge of algebra and geometry and mathematical formulas.
  • Technical ability in the Structural, Architectural, and Mechanical fields.
