About the Opportunity

SkySource Solutions is seeking a talented Structural Designer to support large-scale industrial and energy projects with one of our top clients.

This is a direct hire opportunity offering long-term stability, competitive compensation, and the chance to work on complex structural systems supporting power generation and heavy industrial facilities.

If you’re a Structural Designer with 4–5 years of experience looking to step into bigger projects and grow your technical skillset, this is a great opportunity to take your career to the next level.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D structural models using Tekla Structures and SmartPlant 3D
  • Design and model:
    • Structural steel frameworks
    • Equipment support structures
    • Platforms, ladders, and access systems
  • Produce:
    • General arrangement drawings
    • Steel framing layouts
    • Fabrication and detailing drawings
    • Material take-offs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (piping, mechanical, electrical, civil) to:
    • Resolve clashes
    • Ensure constructability and proper clearances
  • Participate in model reviews (30%, 60%, 90%)
  • Support modular design efforts including:
    • Transport
    • Lifting and erection planning
  • Update models based on engineering changes and project requirements
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards (AISC, AWS, IBC)


What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 4–5 years of experience as a Structural Designer or Structural Modeler
  • Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures
  • Experience modeling structural steel in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with SmartPlant 3D (S3D) or similar multi-discipline modeling tools
  • Background in:
    • Power generation
    • Oil & gas
    • Heavy industrial projects
  • Familiarity with structural codes such as AISC, AWS, or IBC
