About the Role:
As a Project Engineer at DeSimone Consulting Engineering, you'll play a key role in the structural design process-supporting projects from concept through construction. This role offers hands-on experience with design and analysis tools, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and opportunities to grow your technical expertise while learning project management fundamentals.
What You'll Do:
  • Perform structural design and analysis using tools such as Revit, Rhino, ETABS, and SAP.
  • Assist in preparing drawings, calculations, and documentation for design deliverables.
  • Coordinate with architects, clients, and other design team members to ensure design alignment.
  • Conduct field observations and inspections under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Maintain accurate records of design decisions, calculations, and project documentation.
  • Contribute to project planning and scheduling discussions with Project Managers.
  • Apply knowledge of structural codes, standards, and materials to design solutions.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by reviewing drawings and checking design accuracy.

What We're Looking For:
  • BS or MS in Structural/Civil Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in structural design or analysis preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, and structural analysis software such as ETABS and SAP.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow within a dynamic engineering team.

Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field; and five (5) years of experience in design and analysis of mid to high rise buildings utilizing software packages such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE; or
  • Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field; and three (3) years of experience in design and analysis of mid to high rise buildings utilizing software packages such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE.
  • Three years of relevant experience in in analyzing building structures using computer modeling methods and preparing structural calculations.

Minimum (Required) Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
  • Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.
  • Experience working in Revit.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, problem solving and team skills.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
  • Master's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) certification or PE (Professional Engineer) license.
  • Experience working in Grasshopper, a plus.

This is a salaried, exempt position with an anticipated base salary range of $89,000-$95,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Most candidates are typically hired near the midpoint of the range, ensuring a balanced and equitable approach across our team.
