Our Telemetry RN’s play a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is in at Union Health. 2EB is a 20-bed unit that is part of the Union Hospital Certified Primary Stroke Center. This unit focuses on the care of patients experiencing stroke, or symptoms of stroke. Nurses on this unit also focuses on the transition to home for open-heart patients, and the management of diabetes.

This unit is led by Nursing Care Manager, Beth Harrison. She has been with Union Health since 1988 and has been leading the unit since 2013.


Essential & valuable nursing skills gained on this unit:

  • Care of complex medical and surgical patients 
  • Interpretation of cardiac rhythms 
  • Management of cardiac medications and drips 
  • Comprehensive stroke care 
  • Insulin Drip Management 
  • Care of neurological medical and surgical patients 
  • Care of ICU step down patients including Open Heart and Craniotomy patients.

RN Job Details:

Essential Job Duties:

  • Collaborates with the physician or manager to determine needs of patients
  • Completes the routine physical assessment using common assessment skills in a systematic manner.
  • Contributes to plan of care for pre-defined patient problems.
  • Respects patients' rights, including the right to inform, privacy, confidentiality, and the right to refuse care.
  • Assists with patient education to promote self-care and patient independence.
  • Follows company policies and procedures and department protocols.
  • Assists the physician with special procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited ASN or BSN program
  • Must have Indiana RN license
  • Previous RN experience preferred 

License/Certification:

  • BLS certification
  • IN RN license
