Job description

Position Summary

The Experience Design Strategy Senior Manager is a client-facing consulting leader responsible for delivering high-impact experience design strategy engagements for Life Sciences clients. This role combines deep design strategy, experience design and/or innovation expertise with strong digital product fluency, consulting leadership, and Life Sciences commercial acumen.

Recruiting for this role ends on August 31, 2026

Work you'll do

This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable setting experience and product strategy at the executive level and leading cross-functional teams through launch and adoption. You will guide and align strategy, design, product, and engineering leaders to ensure concepts translate into real, measurable business impact.

As a Senior Manager, you will:

  • Lead multiple engagement workstreams that define experience and product strategy across patient services, customer engagement, and commercial operations for Life Sciences clients.
  • Partner with senior client stakeholders to define experience strategies and products that address business and patient and provider needs and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Translate business questions and user insights into design strategies, executive recommendations, digital product visions, and roadmaps.
  • Connect experience strategy to digital product delivery by aligning business needs and goals, customer needs, technology trends, and design intent with product roadmaps, user stories, development priorities, and implementation needs.
  • Lead working sessions, executive readouts, and deliverables while managing scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, and client needs.
  • Own the commercial success of engagements, including margin performance, forecasting, and ongoing financial management.
  • Partner with product, engineering, data, and business leaders to move engagements from concept through build, launch, and iteration.
  • Guide multiple teams in prioritization, trade-off decisions, dependency management, and release planning to drive delivery with speed and clarity.
  • Champion AI-enabled tools and modern ways of working across teams to accelerate research synthesis, concept development, and product planning.
  • Work alongside cross-functional peers and leaders to support practice growth through proposals, solution shaping, and thought leadership
  • Champion and advocate for the role of experience design both with clients and while coaching and developing teams

A successful candidate would possess these skills:

  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, from framing complex business problems to roadmap definition, build planning, launch, and optimization.
  • Deep fluency in agile product delivery practices, with the judgment to balance user value, business value, and technical feasibility across a portfolio of initiatives.
  • Experience guiding roadmap creation, backlog shaping, prioritization, and release planning across multiple workstreams or teams.
  • Strong executive storytelling, stakeholder influence, and team leadership
  • Experience developing, owning, and managing senior client relationships
  • High agency, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes
  • Genuine curiosity and a habit of continuous learning, staying current on new tools, methodologies, and business trends

The Team

An evolving customer and regulatory landscape, mounting pipeline of next-gen assets and portfolio pressures, and intensifying competition are presenting new organizational and operational hurdles for Life Sciences companies. These complex market dynamics are requiring new levels of rigor and insight in experience strategy, digital product design, and patient-centered solutions, both domestically and globally.

We are looking for practitioners who will work alongside Life Sciences organizations-from biotechnology firms to global big pharma to medical device companies-to drive business value through end-to-end delivery of experience design strategies that connect human insight to commercial impact.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience delivering consulting engagements in experience design strategy, product strategy, service design, or human-centered design in commercial or digital environments
  • 8+ years of experience working with Life Sciences commercial teams in patient services, customer engagement, or commercial operations
  • 8+ years of experience in the Life Sciences sector, including patient journeys, health care provider engagement models, and commercial operating environments
  • 8+ years of experience leading design-led innovation processes including but not limited to conducting or leading design research/user interviews, journey mapping, service blueprinting, and/or concepting
  • 2+ years of experience establishing AI-enabled workflows and driving AI adoption across teams and clients; building a prototype or product using AI, including personal projects, is a strong plus
  • 8+ years of experience working on or alongside digital product design and delivery teams, including roadmap development, user story development, and agile delivery
  • Ability to travel 30%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • Experience presenting recommendations to executive stakeholders
  • Experience leading engagements involving design, commercial, and technology stakeholders
  • Experience using data, analytics, or artificial intelligence tools in consulting delivery
  • Experience working with product, engineering, and technology teams to translate experience and design strategy into product roadmaps and tactical delivery plans
  • Experience supporting proposal development, solution shaping, or practice growth activities
  • Experience leading or developing teams in consulting or professional services environments
