Job description

SLSQ327R484
The GTM Strategy & Operations team works directly with Databricks' GTM Leadership to drive growth & scale. We combine data-driven insights, scalable systems, and strong business acumen to empower the GTM leadership team and shape strategy in a high-growth environment.
We're looking for a Strategy & Execution Manager to be the business partner for the AMER Communications, Media & Gaming (CMEG) leadership team - a critical, high-visibility role built on two elements:
(1) COO for the CMEG business. You're effectively second-in-command; you are deeply embedded in the business, with the acumen and thought leadership to set the strategy and the operational muscle to run the team's cadences and execute it. You're the connective tissue across cross-functional teams and the broader AEEB/StratOps org, and you invest the time to know the industry, its market trends, and competitors cold.
(2) A highly technical, analytical operator. You love working with data. You're AI-fluent and are energized to help redefine the StratOps role in the age of AI - automating workflows and unlocking higher-value work. You produce world-class analyses with impeccable attention to detail, at an exceptional pace. You will be expected to own analytical workstreams to drive data-driven decision making at the executive level.
You must be able to deliver the day-to-day operational work with exceptional rigor, while also stepping back to bring a strategic point of view the leader hasn't asked for yet.
This is a unique opportunity to be the strategic and operational backbone of one of Databricks' most exciting verticals
The impact you'll have
  • Run the business as the leader's right hand: you are embedded enough to know the accounts, deals, team, and numbers cold and always have the answer. Surface risks, opportunities, and recommendations before you're asked. Invest in learning about the industry and market.
  • Own the operating rhythm: forecast calls, pipeline reviews, QBRs, exec summaries, and territory/account planning. You will be trusted to run the cadences for the organization and represent the business when leadership is not in the room
  • Turn data into decisions: own rigorous, complex analyses that guide investment, growth, and prioritization - with a point of view, not just data
  • Be the connective tissue: partner across Planning, Recruiting, Programs, Marketing, and Partners to unblock growth
  • Build for scale with AI: create AI-powered solutions that simplify the field experience and free the team for strategic work, and teach what you build
What we look for
  • Radical ownership and speed. You own outcomes at pace, not just tasks. You are measured on the impact you deliver, not on effort.
  • Run-the-business operator. You want to own a business end-to-end and operate on the leader's behalf, not support from the sidelines. You earn trust through immersion and reliability, you're a doer as much as a designer, and you bring structure to ambiguity.
  • Technical and analytical horsepower. You want your hands in the data and to build, not just direct it - advanced Excel/Sheets + SQL and modern tools (Databricks, Genie, Lakeview, custom agents), and you pick up new ones fast.
  • AI-fluent, and on the frontier. AI is part of your daily workflow as a multiplier, and you proactively keep up with the latest tools and trends. You enjoy being an early adopter, learn new technology fast, and turn it into enterprise-quality work while offloading operational load to it.
  • Proactive strategic instinct. You don't wait for the question; you spot the pattern, form a point of view, and bring the recommendation, framed around the leader's decisions.
  • Zero-defect operational rigor. Accurate, on-time, exec-ready output. You trace discrepancies to root cause and won't ship something you can't defend. Strategy and operations are equally weighted.
  • Connective tissue, with sound judgment. You run toward cross-functional partnership, understand other teams' incentives, and make it easy to say yes. You see the org as a system rather than silos - with high honesty, integrity, and judgment. You document and teach what you build.
  • Excellent communication. Comfortable presenting to VPs and BU leadership; you produce leader-ready decks, exec summaries, and quantitative business cases.
