Stablecoin information

What are stablecoins?

Stablecoins are a type of cryptocurrency designed to maintain a stable value by pegging their worth to a reserve asset, such as the US dollar, euro, or gold. Unlike other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum, whose prices can fluctuate significantly, stablecoins aim to offer price stability, making them more suitable for everyday transactions and as a store of value. They achieve this stability through various mechanisms, including backing by fiat currency reserves, collateral in other cryptocurrencies, or using algorithms to manage supply and demand. Stablecoins are commonly used for trading, remittances, and as a safe haven during periods of crypto market volatility.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a stablecoin product manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Stablecoin Product Manager, you need a strong background in financial technology, blockchain fundamentals, and product management, often supported by a degree in finance, computer science, or a related field. Familiarity with smart contract platforms, regulatory compliance tools, and digital asset management systems is typically required. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills set exceptional candidates apart. These skills are crucial for ensuring the stablecoin product is secure, compliant, and effectively meets both user and business needs.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in stablecoin product development?

Professionals in stablecoin product development often face challenges related to regulatory compliance, ensuring robust security measures, and maintaining price stability. The role typically requires close collaboration with legal, engineering, and risk management teams to address evolving regulations and safeguard against cyber threats. Additionally, adapting to rapidly changing market conditions and integrating with other financial systems can be complex but offers valuable opportunities for skill growth. Being proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented is key to success in this dynamic environment.

Job description

Job Summary:
Slash is a fast-growing fintech company focused on creating tailored financial infrastructure for businesses. The role involves building and enhancing their stablecoin and on-chain infrastructure, working on products like the Global USD Account and Global Card to facilitate stablecoin transactions for businesses globally.
Responsibilities:
• Own and ship full product surfaces end-to-end across the Global USD Account, expanded global accounts, stablecoin payments, and our Global Card — from data model to API to the product customers interact with daily
• Build and extend our core stablecoin infrastructure: on-chain execution, on-ramp and off-ramp orchestration, USDSL mint/redeem flows, and the settlement systems that move billions of dollars a year
• Build the issuing stack for our Global Card, where stablecoin balances integrate with card rails, handling spend authorization, settlement, and the financial primitives that make a stablecoin-backed card feel as smooth as a traditional debit
• Expand the Global USD Account into new markets and new use cases, giving more businesses real access to U.S. dollar rails
• Work directly with customers to figure out what to build next, and partner with compliance and design to ship it correctly
Qualifications:
Required:
• Has shipped and owned full product surfaces, not just isolated features but entire systems from data model to deploy
• Is a strong full-stack engineer: comfortable designing API endpoints, writing database migrations, and building the frontend end to end
• Has strong product instincts and thinks holistically about UX, API ergonomics, and system correctness, and pushes back when something doesn't feel right
• Is excited to go deep on on-chain systems, stablecoins, and the messy seams between crypto and traditional finance
• Thrives working independently in a small team that ships fast
• Cares about craft: writes clean, well-tested code, thinks about edge cases, and takes pride in building software that's delightful to use and correct under load
Preferred:
• Comfortable reasoning about on-chain UX and settlement mechanics, including signing, finality, gas, and confirmation tradeoffs
• Hands-on experience integrating with stablecoin on/off-ramp orchestration APIs, custody providers, or settlement infrastructure
• Familiarity with cross-border money movement, FX, or treasury systems
• Experience with Account Abstraction, smart wallets, paymasters, or multi-sig / key quorum systems
• Card issuing experience, especially stablecoin-backed cards or programs built on top of issuer-processors
• Background in regulated fintech — payments, banking, or compliance-heavy infrastructure
Company:
Slash provides a financial technology platform that allows businesses to manage financial operations through a unified digital system. Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in San Francisco, USA, with a team of 11-50 employees. The company is currently Early Stage.
