Become a Distribution/Vegetation Management Asset Strategy, Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow.
In this role, you'll serve as a strategic consultant, responsible for developing, prioritizing, project managing, and implementing strategies for key programs. You will provide expert guidance and actionable insights to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance are core components within SCE's Distribution assets and vegetation management programs. As a key voice in our technical direction, you'll also influence innovation and ensure successful delivery of high-impact initiatives, and projects
Within this team, you will operate in both lead and support roles in one or more of the following areas:
  • Distribution grid hardening programs in wildfire areas and infrastructure replacement programs focused on public safety and reliability
  • Development of Maintenance & Inspection programs that support reducing wildfire risk for SCE's Transmission and Distribution organizations
  • Development of risk-informed strategy and scope for SCE's Vegetation Management organization

Additionally, this position will be key in working with peer organizations to translate the approved program strategies into SCE's regulatory filings, such as the General Rate Case (GRC), Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP), and Risk Assessment Mitigation Phase (RAMP).

Responsibilities
  • Participates in developing the long-term vision and annual strategic plan for SCE by defining measurable targets for programs and initiatives that focus on opportunities in clean energy, electrification, grid of the future, and climate change.
  • Coordinates with teams to develop a multi-year plan that integrates key milestones across business planning, technical planning, and regulatory functions.
  • Develops key presentations and interacts regularly with management to obtain input and approval on strategic planning decisions.
  • Coordinates with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment to the strategic plan throughout the organization.
  • Conducts periodic strategic reviews and market competitive analysis, thereby aligning business priorities and identifying alternative business opportunities.
  • Prepares analysis and communicates business performance and results as needed.
  • Leads all reporting activities and ensures adherence with the company's policies and procedures.
  • Conducts various business plan scenario modeling and sensitivities, enabling management to better understand the impact of various development scenarios and uncertainties.
  • Analyzes large data sets of existing markets in order to propose optimization actions.
  • Utilizes time-series and statistical analysis to undertake performance improvement initiatives.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Seven or more years of experience in strategic planning and setting strategies at the department or organization level.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline
  • Experience with utility asset management, asset inspections, or vegetation management
  • Experience working with and reviewing large amounts of geospatial and non-spatial data.
  • Experience conducting data quality analyses and performing high-level spot checks to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Experience evaluating technical solutions, risk analysis and cost benefit variables to make effective business decisions.
  • Experience developing communication materials (e.g., PowerPoint) and facilitate decision making conversations with senior leadership.
  • Experience with integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities into real-world solutions (i.e. leveraging computer vision AI models to modify operational workflows).
  • Experience coordinating or developing components of the General Rate Case and/or Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP).

Additional Information
  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
