Senior Strategic Engagement Director – Corporate

Location: Arlington, VA / Hybrid or Remote Opportunity

Hanover Research is seeking a Senior Strategic Engagement Director to serve as a strategic partner to the Corporate Sales team, helping prospects translate complex business challenges into actionable research programs. This role works closely with Sales Directors, Research Teams, Marketing, leadership, external panel partners and Revenue Operations to design research solutions, assess feasibility, develop project scopes and pricing, secure recruitment estimates for quantitative and qualitative studies, and create compelling proposals and RFP responses. In addition, this role will use their experience to streamline and improve the Strategic Engagement function.

Responsibilities
  • Ownership of initial proposal creation for B2B and B2C sales prospects.
  • Work with prospects, Sales Directors, and leadership to identify Hanover capabilities that can meet the needs of prospects.
  • Create insightful and compelling proposals in Power Point.
  • Scope potential projects for sales prospects; identify methodological approaches, strategic outcomes, and limitations.
  • Assess feasibility and obtain recruitment estimates for quantitative and qualitative research studies by partnering with panel providers; evaluate audience incidence, timelines, and costs to inform project design and pricing.
  • Write scopes of work for proposed projects from scratch with minimal oversight.
  • When necessary manage RFP response process, including gathering necessary information from across company, designing and writing Hanover’s approach to the research, gather feedback from multiple stakeholders, and producing compelling RFP responses on short deadlines.
  • Support Directors and act as voice of Content on sales calls.
  • Constantly work with leadership to improve Hanover’s proposal process.
  • Provide input into Hanover’s pricing model.
  • Manage scopes of work for strategic ad hoc projects.
  • Build sales collateral aligned with Hanover’s research capabilities.
  • Oversee and periodically add to library of redacted reports for the Corporate practice.
  • Contribute to and help to manage other team initiatives.
  • Architect a strategic plan to improve the Strategic Engagement function leveraging AI and streamlined process.
Desired Skills & Attributes / Qualifications
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • 8+ years of experience in sales, research or sales support role
  • A Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier institution
  • Strong understanding of research processes and methodologies
  • Established organization, multi-tasking and prioritization abilities
  • Excellent video presence and comfortability having commercial conversations
  • Strategic thinker and solutions-oriented approach to daily activities
  • Ability to “think on his or her feet” as needed
  • Comfortable working with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative with proven ability to work across functions of an organization
  • Strong MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills, with a particular emphasis on PowerPoint
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM applications

Compensation

Hanover Research strives to create compensation and benefits programs that are competitive, equitable, and fair. The On Target Earning (OTE) range for this role is $1 1 5,000 - $20 4 000 per year, which is comprised of a base salary range from $85,000 - $150,000 and a variable uncapped commission structure ranging from $30,000 - $54,000 when goal is 100% obtained for this role. Please note that the base salary offered is contingent on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Our base pay range is determined by the role and the market.
