Position Summary

The Business Development Manager drives CAMP's revenue growth by leading outreach, cultivation, and relationship development with school districts, corporate sponsors, foundations, and other funding partners. This role manages the full development pipeline-from lead generation to proposal submission-by crafting service agreements, coordinating follow-up, and sustaining long-term engagement with both new and existing partners.

The Business Development Manager works closely with the Grant Writer to ensure alignment between fundraising strategies, grant narratives, and partner messaging. Together, they coordinate timelines, funder intelligence, and proposal content across all philanthropic and fee-for-service channels. This shared approach ensures consistency in external communication, strategic targeting of funders, and a well-managed institutional funding pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new partnership opportunities with school districts, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic funders.
  • Lead outreach and cultivation efforts, including prospect meetings, pitch presentations, and follow-up.
  • Develop and submit tailored service proposals and RFP responses in partnership with program teams.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date CRM records of contacts, proposal stages, and engagement history.
  • Collaborate with the Grant Writer to share insights, synchronize language, and manage institutional relationships across philanthropic and earned revenue channels.

  • Proposal win rate: 35% of proposals result in closed partnerships or awards.
  • CRM accuracy: 5% incomplete, outdated, or duplicate records across the assigned portfolio.
  • Renewal success: 85% of eligible partner contracts are renewed on schedule.
  • Shared pipeline coordination: 95% of institutional funder opportunities discussed and documented jointly with the Grant Writer within 2 business days of identification.
