  • Own the full division P&L, enforce financial controls, deliver strong margins, and partner with Finance on forecasting.
  • Build and maintain key client relationships, drive repeat business, and support pursuit of federal and public-sector work.
  • Champion risk mitigation, safety culture, quality standards, and operational excellence across the division.
  • Drive process improvements and technology adoption, while collaborating closely with Estimating, Pre-Construction, Finance, HR, and the Civil Division.

What You Bring Required:

  • 15+ years of progressive commercial construction experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership.
  • Proven success delivering complex commercial projects across general contracting, CM-at-risk, and design-build delivery methods.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing division-level or multi-project profitability.
  • Proficiency with construction project management software (Procore/Viewpoint, Primavera P6 or MS Project).

Preferred:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Experience with federal or public-sector contracting.
  • DBIA certification or deep design-build background.
  • Established industry network in commercial construction.

Leadership Profile You are a strategic thinker who executes with urgency. You build trust quickly with clients and teams, communicate clearly at all levels, and model accountability and craftsmanship. You thrive with autonomy and want to make a visible impact on both project outcomes and the long-term success of the division.

Why Join David Nice Builders?

  • Opportunity to truly shape and grow a respected Commercial Division with direct executive visibility.
  • High degree of autonomy and ownership in a values-driven company that prioritizes integrity, relationships, and quality.
  • Competitive compensation package: $130,000 $170,000 base salary (with potential to stretch higher for the right candidate) plus performance incentives.
  • Relocation assistance available for strong candidates moving to the area.
  • Projects throughout the Hampton Roads and greater Virginia region not limited to a single remote site.
  • Collaborative environment with direct access to senior leadership and a company that values long-term relationships over short-term wins.
