We're seeking a Full-Time Assistant Meat Manager to join our Morris Plains, NJ store. Work closely with the Meat Manager to lead the department, prepare high-quality cuts, manage staff, and ensure an exceptional customer experience.
This full-time Assistant Manager position offers a consistent 48-hour work week, including 8 hours paid at overtime rates each week-giving you the opportunity to earn more with a predictable schedule. What You'll Do
Butchering & Prep:
  • Cut and prepare all types of meat using bandsaws, deboning knives, and other tools.
  • Trim, weigh, label, and price meats for customer orders.
  • Receive shipments, inspect for quality, and ensure proper rotation in storage cases.

Department Leadership:
  • Assist with staff management, scheduling, and training.
  • Control department expenses and minimize shrinkage.
  • Ensure associates operate equipment safely.
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and labeling regulations.

Customer Service:
  • Welcome and assist customers with orders.
  • Ensure the Meat Department is organized, attractive, and customer-friendly.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years managing a meat department in a grocery store environment.
  • Advanced butchering skills, including bandsaw operation.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong knowledge of perishable items, food rotation, and safety standards.
