Overview:

The Field Visual Manager is responsible for building Visual Merchandising skills and capability at the Store Leadership and District Manager level to deliver a consistent, branded emotional experience across the division. This role will deliver a compelling customer experience in all stores and set the pace for Visual Merchandising execution. This role will work collaboratively with Store Leadership teams to train, demonstrate, guide and execute elevated presentation strategies within the division.

The Field Visual Manager will leverage the ability to effectively gain consensus and alignment with stakeholders and HD Visual Merchandising, and collaborates with key business partners to impact overall business results and the in-store experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Builds Talent

  • Build DM and Store visual merchandising skills and capability by demonstrating:
    • Effective Floorset Planning inclusive of zone mapping, cab by cab maps, product laydowns and styling laydowns across all businesses categories.
    • Share best practices for floor set execution & sustainment
    • Distortion of time in critical stores: Top Volume Doors 50%, New Leader Training & NSOs 50%.
  • Create Individual Development Plan focusing on building Visual Merchandising skill and capability while facilitating hands on training platforms, inclusive of Mapping, Merchandising, Styling, Compositions, & Sell Thru across all outlet stores.
  • Demonstrate the proven ability to conduct effective store visits with store leadership/field leadership and cross functional home office partners.
  • Develop, train, motivate, and inspire Field Leadership through effective Learning Labs and weekly, monthly and annual touch points.

Builds the Brand

  • Build accountability with Store Leadership teams to understand and leverage Visual Merchandising to maximize overall business results, impact conversion and elevate the customer experience.
  • Identify and share new visual merchandising and styling ideas to elevate in-store environment.
    • Create an inspiration library for styling & merchandising (floor fixtures & cabinets)
  • Track success through both quantitative and qualitative learning insights including weekly photo recap/ weekly observations.
  • Set the highest level of execution expectations relating to all aspects of visual merchandising.
  • Regularly seek out and share competitive insights; build on-going knowledge of current industry trends.

Builds Capabilities 

  • Identify store specific opportunities to use visual merchandising levers to drive results.
  • Partner with Director or Field Visual & Director of Retail Stores to develop time sensitive actions plans that will improve business & share action plans.
  • Understand how to read and analyze business results. Apply learning’s to assigned market, linking visual merchandising to overall business results and customer experience.
  • Influence Field Leadership regarding floor set execution and decision making; reinforce use of brand tools
  • Coach to improve backroom standards and how they affect floor set execution, replenishment and recovery, and customer experience.

Territory and Travel Expectations

  • This role will cover Specialty Retail and Wholesale.
  • Travel for this role will include, but not limited to, Learning Labs, Compass Store Visits, New Store Openings for Specialty Retail and Wholesale.
  • Travel will be required approximately 12-15 days per month and will be planned in partnership with the Director of Field Visual to support the needs of the business. Flexibility to travel overnight weekly is based on business needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Fashion Merchandising, Deign or related area preferred.
  • 7+ years managing complex creative projects.
  • Proven ability to create, interpret and implement Visual Merchandising concepts.
  • High level of influencing capability
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to meet aggressive deadlines and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational, planning and project management skills.
  • Experience leading, developing, motivating and managing talent.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communications skills
  • Computer skills: MS Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe in Design and Adobe Photoshop
