PRIMARY PURPOSE AND MISSION STATEMENT: Raymer Oil Company (ROC), its divisions and its employees pledge to put customers first by:

POSITION SUMMARY: The Store Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the grocery store including enforcement of all policies, standards, security measures, and regulations of FAIRVALUE, a division of ROC. Responsible for hiring, training and maintaining the entire store work force. Maintains FAIRVALUE's high standards of customer service. Responsible for labor scheduling, store cash and store inventory. Other duties include, but are not limited to receiving trucks and DSD vendors; maintaining sanitation and safety standards; store maintenance; and pricing and file maintenance issues. Has direct authority over the Assistant Managers, Scan Analyst, all department managers and functional authority over all store employees. Reports to the Retail Operations Manager.

Requirements

Knowledge and Education

  • High school graduation or equivalent, preferred. 
  • Knowledge of DSD/Scanning Operations
  • Knowledge of front-end operations

Experience

  • Five plus years' retail grocery experience required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Good people and customer interaction skills.
  • Skills in areas of leadership, management, coaching, teaching, and motivating employees.
  • Demonstrated attentiveness to details, mathematical analytical ability. Use of calculator.
  • Good computer skills, e.g. point of sale system.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems - operational, customer, and employee.
  • Customer service skills related to interaction with resolving customer concerns.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a high pressure and demanding environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, i.e., pick-up where left off when interrupted.
  • Good organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standing / walking - high level
  • Environment - convenience store
  • Travel - some local travel required for running business errands
  • Lifting - up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to unload merchandise from trucks and operate hydraulic equipment
  • Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be at least 18 years of ageÂ
