Position Overview:

The Store Design Specialist assists with the drafting of store layouts for new stores, remodels and store department resets, as directed by the Sr. Manager of New Store Design & Merchandising or other Executives of the company. This position is responsible for the ordering of fixtures needed for any store design project, including new or existing locations. This role is expected to adhere to existing company standards and budget spending guidelines.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Draft fixture layouts for new store locations.
  • Draft fixture layouts for existing store locations, remodels, and department resets.
  • Generate purchase orders for any type of project as needed (new store, remodel, reset, store level requests).
  • Maintain an organized data base system for all orders, layouts and requests processed.
  • Maintain vendor relationships with fixture and supply vendors.
  • Effectively meet project deadlines.
  • Provide direction and delegation for Team Leaders and store opening teams on various project work.
  • Assist the Store Opening Coordinator team with any questions or concerns as they arise concerning new store set up.
  • Provide communication and direction for new store and existing store projects.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting organizational deadlines.
  • Partner with district, regional and executive leaders to review plans and store layouts.
  • Communicate and present project plans to Associates and leaders within the organization.
  • Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Mail Outlook, etc.).
  • Working knowledge or basic exposure to CAD design software
  • Ability to develop a knowledge of Ollie’s department structure, flow, set- up and size allocation needs in relation to each store’s unique physical layout.
  • Ability to comprehend and accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a reasonable time frame.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures.
  • Duties may frequently involve the use of ladders, stairs, and other equipment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel, sometimes overnight travel will be required with extended stays.
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting up to 70 lbs.
