Job description

As a Store Planner, you'll design, coordinate, and manage new store build-outs and retrofits. If you enjoy creating functional and visually appealing spaces, collaborating with diverse teams, and ensuring brand consistency, this role is the perfect spark for your career in retail design.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with franchise owners, corporate district managers, vendors, and internal teams to support planning and execution of new store openings.

  • Develop and maintain layouts that optimize product presentation while upholding brand consistency.

  • Ensure adherence to corporate brand standards and store planning guidelines throughout design and construction.

  • Maintain and update the library of construction drawings, finishes, specifications, and design notes.

  • Participate in ongoing evaluations and enhancements of the store design program.

  • Manage ordering processes for fixtures, inventory, and equipment needed for store openings, relocations, and remodels.

  • Coordinate with vendors to schedule and monitor deliveries for store fixture programs.

  • Communicate order timelines, changes, and issues to internal stakeholders and franchisees.

  • Coordinate and communicate project timelines and milestones with internal and external teams.

  • Track certifications, training, and other items needed for store openings.

  • Maintain the master schedule for store openings and perform 30-, 60-, and 90-day follow-ups.

  • Communicate with franchisees to ensure project funding, including SBA loans, permitting, architectural drawings, and city approvals.

  • Track and manage store design deviations using the store exceptions database.

  • Support the preparation and distribution of monthly store planning reports.

  • Provide weekly reporting to senior leadership on project tracking.

  • Identify and proactively communicate project risks, roadblocks, and recommended solutions.

What Powers You

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred; PMP Certification a plus.

  • Minimum 1 year of retail, merchandising, or store planning experience required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Excel, and Visio.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project coordination abilities.

  • Basic math skills, including percentages, ratios, and spatial measurements.
