Senior Design Engineer - Alvarado, Texas (Onsite)
Direct Hire - $88,000–$98,000 base + bonus

Imprimis Group/IGXperts is actively seeking a Senior Design Engineer for a high-impact onsite opportunity supporting advanced steel structure design and engineering operations. This is a leadership-focused role for an experienced engineer who can drive technical excellence, improve processes, and help lead engineering initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
 
We are looking for someone who brings strong structural design expertise, proven leadership ability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
 
What You’ll Own:
  • Lead design engineering efforts supporting steel structure and utility infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery of engineering designs.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to improve processes, workflows, and technical standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering operations.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality and process issues.
  • Establish performance metrics, monitor team productivity, and drive operational improvements.
  • Support large-scale engineering projects and process redesign initiatives.
  • Lead team collaboration, technical reviews, and project execution meetings.
  • Help strengthen engineering design systems, standards, and software utilization.
  • Mentor and develop engineering team members through coaching and knowledge transfer.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, manufacturing, and leadership teams to support business objectives.
 
What We’re Looking For:
  • Engineering degree required (Civil or Mechanical strongly preferred).
  • 5–10+ years of design engineering experience in steel structures, utility infrastructure, or related environments.
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Strong AutoCAD proficiency required.
  • Experience with steel utility structures, transmission design, or related structural systems preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design software and 3D modeling applications.
  • Experience with PLS Pole software is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement and lean process methodologies.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
