Overview:

Position Summary:
The Fitter/Tacker is responsible for fitting, aligning, positioning, and tack welding structural steel components according to blueprints, shop drawings, and production specifications. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to accurately measure and assemble steel components, and a solid understanding of welding and fabrication processes. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment and be comfortable working with heavy steel materials. 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, and secure steel structures and components in construction and industrial settings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, and prepare steel materials with accuracy.
  • Ensure proper alignment and fit-up for welding and fabrication.
  • Perform tack welding to secure components prior to final welding.
  • Repair and reinforce steel structures as needed, ensuring durability and quality.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
  • Adhere to industry standards and company procedures in all fabrication work.
