The Steel Fitter/Fabricator is responsible for assembling and fitting steel components in accordance with project specifications, blueprints and safety standards.ย  This role requires precision, knowledge of welding/fitting techniques and the ability to work collaboratively in a fabrication shop environment.

ย Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications for steel assemblies.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances and alignment of components.
  • Fit, assemble and install steel components, including beams, columns and other steel fabrications.
  • Work closely with welders and other team members to ensure proper assembly.
  • Follow all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Use hoisting, lifting and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with project supervisor to resolve fitting or alignment issues.
  • Report any defects, deviations or safety hazards promptly.

ย Qualifications:

  • Experience as a steel fitter or similar role in the fabrication industry.
